PlayStation and 2K announced an NBA 2K25 PS5 bundle release in September, coinciding with the game's launch. Additionally, details were revealed about the game's Play Now mode, which will bring back a feature for online players.

What's included in the NBA 2K25 PS5 bundle isn't all that surprising. It's only available in the US and Canada and includes the PS5 Digital Edition and a digital copy of NBA 2K25. That means players won't be able to use discs on this particular console. The console also sports the newer, sleeker design. Due to the all-digital nature of the console, an internet connection and PlayStation Network account are required to redeem the NBA 2K25 voucher. Once redeemed, the game will be playable at 5 a.m. PST on September 4, 2024.
In addition to announcing the NBA 2K25 PS5 bundle, 2K also revealed the return of Leagues to NBA 2K25’s Play Now Online mode. Leagues is a five-tier ranking system for Classic Mode. Each player starts at the Bronze level with all 30 current NBA teams available to use at the jump. Players will unlock more playable teams as they progress through each tier.
