Warner Bros. Discovery Sues NBA Over Matching Rights
(Updated with NBA statement) Just hours before the Opening Ceremony gets underway in Paris, David Zaslav wants to remind everyone that the Olympics aren't the only competition. As expected, he's filing a lawsuit against the NBA over the TV rights.
Not that the NBA seems all that impressed
"Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. ("TBS") and Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. ("WBD") are bringing this action against the National Basketball Association ("NBA") to enforce TBS's contractual rights to broadcast NBA -games through the 2035-36 season,” reads a heavily redacted lawsuit filed Friday in New York state court by WBD and its subsidiary Turner Sports.
