Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining is one of those films that still gives you goosebumps decades later. Just when you thought you’d never see The Overlook Hotel again, a surprise comes your way. You get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Stephen King adaptation, with a release date announced.

Audiences saw the documentary The Shining Room 237 and the BBC documentary by Vivian Kubrick. According to IndieWire, the upcoming documentary Shine On – The Forgotten Shining Location will focus on the historic hotel’s only remaining filming location and memories of the filming of the classic horror film:

"The production of The Shining has been well documented and analyzed, but this is a story that has never been told," said Katharina Kubrick, the horror film's location researcher and the director's daughter. "Pivotal scenes from the film took place in these areas, so going back to these areas felt like stepping into the film itself."

Good Omen's Michael Sheen will narrate Shine On. Interview subjects include Katharina Kubrick, executive producer of the psychological horror Jan Harlan and art director Les Tomkins. Previously thought to have been destroyed, interviewees will be able to visit Elstree Studios to talk about the film's location scouting and art direction:
