Bernadette Herrera, vice chair of the House Minority Group and party member for Bagong Henerasyon, has filed a measure to define failure to pay tolls as a traffic violation.
Can your driver's license be revoked if you don't pay New York tolls?
According to Herrera, Bill 8161 is intended to deter motorists from intentionally or unintentionally paying tolls, which can lead to traffic congestion and accidents.
“Our highways and toll roads are the lifeblood of our nation’s transportation network. It is imperative that we ensure they are safe, efficient and accessible. HB 8161 is a critical step toward achieving this goal,” Herrera said.
“We must take action now to modernise our tolling systems and enforce traffic laws to protect our motorists and improve our roads,” she added.
