Normal People made stars out of its two young actors and now one of them has revealed that she would like to reprise the role in the future.

Daisy Edgar-Jones played Marianne opposite Paul Mescal as Connell in the hit BBC romantic coming-of-age drama based on Sally Rooney's best-selling novel. She told BBC News: "I love those characters. It would be great to explore them again." She added: "If [Rooney] feels like writing a new story, who knows… I'll keep it open. Always open."
The series was released in April 2020, initially on BBC Three in the UK, and on Hulu in the US, and became one of the big TV hits of the lockdown. Edgar-Jones told the BBC: "It introduced Paul and I to a lot of people and filmmakers."
Edgar-Jones starred in the films Fresh and Where the Crawdads Sing and will star opposite Glen Powell in Twisters, out this month, while Mescal – nominated for an Oscar for Aftersun in 2023 – will expand his vast fanbase in Gladiator II.
