Not Dead Yet Season 2 concludes on Wednesday, April 24 on ABC, and the finale will be a two-part episode featuring guest stars Malcolm Barrett and Jenifer Lewis. The title of the second episode raises questions about whether one of the main characters could become one of the ghosts. Could it be Nell (Gina Rodriguez) herself?
Nell Confronts a Psychic About Speaking to Ghosts – Not Dead Yet
Not Dead Yet stars Rodriguez as Nell Serrano, a journalist assigned to the obituary department who sees the ghosts of her assigned subjects. This supernatural gift was bestowed upon her after she became the obituary writer at the SoCal Independent. Previously, she was the paper’s star investigative reporter, but an affair led her to follow her lover to London, returning five years later after that engagement failed and burned.
By connecting with these spirits, Nell has learned valuable life lessons as she has spent the past two seasons trying to turn her life around, but the show has yet to reveal more of her supernatural knowledge. Up until now, Nell’s coworkers have thought she was just an oddball who talks to herself a lot in public. It will be a big change for the show if they finally delve into the details of Nell’s abilities. Could that happen in the Season 2 finale?
The back-to-back episodes 9 and 10 are titled "Not the End Yet" and "Not a Ghost Yet," which hints at a possible character death in the latter episode. Based on the episode loglines, it appears that father-daughter duo Duncan (Brad Garrett) and Lexi (Lauren Ash) will be major players in the episodes.
