Oasis announce additional shows for reunion tour
Oasis, whose reunion concerts have created unprecedented demand for tickets since the Taylor Swift Ticketmaster debacle in 2022, have announced two additional concerts at London's Wembley Stadium on September 27 and 28.
According to the announcement, the tour was the biggest concert launch to date in the UK and Ireland, with more than 10 million fans from 158 countries attempting to purchase tickets, with the total number coming to around a hundred thousand.
“As a small step to make things right,” the band said in a statement announcing the new shows, it is attempting to make ticket sales less frustrating with a special “invitation only ticket sales strategy” in which applications to enter the lottery will be opened first to the many fans who were not successful in the initial sale through Ticketmaster. The announcement acknowledges that “the inevitable interest in this tour has been so overwhelming that it is impossible to schedule enough shows to meet public demand. However, this ticketing strategy will make the process much smoother for fans by reducing the stress and time it takes to secure one of the hottest tickets of our time.” No further details were provided in the announcement.
