Damian Mc Carthy’s 2024 film Oddity was a spectacular treat for horror film fans this year. The chilling plot with a twist at the end made the Irish thriller an incredible addition to the beloved genre. However, some viewers have expressed confusion over the ending and want it to be explained. They want clarity on what ultimately happened to the main characters.

In a recent interview, director Damian Mc Carthy explained the film's ending and talked about the final twist.

The twist at the end of the film revealed that it was actually Ted, played by Gwilym Lee, who masterminded the murder of his wife Dani. The film follows Darcy, Dani's twin sister and a psychic who is determined to find out who murdered her sister. She even goes so far as to kill the original suspect, Olin, who she later realizes was actually innocent. Using her psychometric powers and a wooden mannequin, Darcy figured out what Ted had done and confronted him.

Ted had recruited Ivan, a nurse from the psychiatric hospital where Ted works, to kill Dani. He sent Ivan again to kill Darcy, but he was instead terrorized by the wooden mannequin that Darcy had animated with her powers. Ted also released a cannibal to kill Ivan so that the truth would die with him. While viewers are starting to believe that Ted will get away with his crimes, another satisfying twist shatters that idea.
