Simon West's "Old Guy," starring Christoph Waltz, Cooper Hoffman and Lucy Liu, makes its world premiere as the opening film at this year's Newport Beach Film Festival.

West and Waltz are expected to attend the Oct. 17 screening, which will kick off the festival’s 25th edition from Oct. 17-24. The Avenue will release “Old Guy” in spring 2025.
Waltz will receive the Icon Award at the screening honoring his legendary career. He is a two-time Academy Award winner for his performances in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious Basterds" and "Django Unchained." His other credits include "Big Eyes," "The French Dispatch," "Horrible Bosses 2," "No Time To Die," "Spectre" and "Water for Elephants." His upcoming projects include "Dracula: A Love Tale" and "Frankenstein."
