PBD Podcast | EP 133 | Legendary Filmmaker: Oliver Stone
EXCLUSIVE: The last time we heard from Oliver Stone, he was in Cannes for a special screening of Lula , his documentary about Brazilian leader Luiz Inacio da Silva’s incredible comeback and rise from prison to president when a hacker revealed he was the target of an attempt to overthrow Lula. The three-time Oscar-winning filmmaker said at the time that he had one more ambitious narrative film he was determined to direct, and he’s just signed a full-service representation deal with Atlas Artists to make that dream a reality.
Stone wouldn’t reveal what the project entails, nor would his new rep team elaborate. Suffice it to say, it’ll have a strong point of view, as he’s demonstrated on an illustrious resume that includes Salvador, Platoon, Wall Street, Born on the Fourth of July, The Doors, JFK, Heaven and Earth, Natural Born Killers, Nixon, Any Given Sunday and many more. He won Oscars for Best Adapted Screenplay for Salvador, Best Director for Platoon and Best Director for Born on the Fourth of July. He’s also received a BAFTA, five Golden Globes, two DGA Awards for Best Director and a WGA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
