Al Tengco, chairman of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor), confirmed that gymnast Carlos Yulo will receive 10 million pesos for his two Olympic gold medals.

“As prescribed by law, for the gold medalists… an athlete who wins a gold medal, Pagcor is obligated to give P10 million. So since he has two gold medals, Mr. Yulo will have P20 million,” Tengco said during Tuesday’s budget deliberations.
Tengco said the coach and trainer will receive 50% of what Yulo gets.
“So in that case, Mr. Yulo will receive P20 million, P10 million per gold he could produce. And his coach and his trainer will receive a total of P10 million… P5 million each more or less,” he added.
