International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach predicted record broadcast and social media numbers for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as they entered their second week on Saturday.

Bach told a daily briefing in Paris that by the end of the Games, which run from July 25 to August 11, half of the world's eight billion people will have followed the 2024 edition or interacted with it on social media.
