ChatGPT’s advanced Voice Mode caused a stir when it was first announced. But according to a recent security report, OpenAI already fears that the advanced Voice Mode – which sounds eerily like a human voice – could lead to users becoming emotionally addicted to the AI chatbot.

The advanced voice mode is one of the most anticipated ChatGPT features. It can conduct real-time conversations, make human sounds like “Umm,” “Ah,” and other interjections while talking, mimic sounds, sing songs, and even determine your emotional state based on your voice tone. Simply put, it’s the most lifelike AI assistant out there. But because it’s such a powerful and capable feature, ChatGPT’s voice mode has a huge potential for abuse.
OpenAI stated in its report:
“During initial testing… we saw users using language that might indicate they were forming connections with the model. This includes language that expresses shared ties, such as “This is our last day together.”
