“Melody Brooks, a sixth-grader with cerebral palsy, has a quick mind and a sharp wit, but because she is nonverbal and uses a wheelchair, she doesn’t have the same opportunities as her classmates. When a young teacher notices her student’s untapped potential and Melody begins to participate in the mainstream, Melody shows that what she has to say is more important than how she says it.”
