Elon Musk faces class action lawsuit over Twitter layoffs
(Updated with statement from Paramount) Paramount Global, which will soon come under the control of Skydance, thought it was cutting costs with last month's latest round of layoffs, but the company, still under Shari Redstome, could find itself in a new legal trap as a result of the cuts.
To be specific, a potential class action lawsuit stemming from Empire State's alleged failure to provide required notice to the more than 300 employees it laid off on September 24. This new round of cuts last week came in what's being called "Phase 2" of Paramount's ongoing effort to lay off 15% of its domestic workforce.
Cutbacks that could prove expensive.
