Discovery+ and Max offer “as good” or “better” value for Olympic coverage than European public broadcasters, according to Warner Bros. Discovery’s President of Sports in EMEA.

Speaking to reporters this morning, Andrew Georgiou built the argument that consumers should pay for the Paris Olympics to access every minute of coverage. The Games officially begin tomorrow with a dazzling opening ceremony along the Seine.

WBD, then Discovery, acquired the rights to the Games in 2015. Since then, the company has sublicensed themigi to European public broadcasters, as the International Olympic Committee requires a certain level of coverage to make the broadcasts free.
