Closing Ceremony Paris 2024 Olympic Games LIVE | Eurosport | #Paris2024
Warner Bros. Discovery has been telling plenty of positive stories about its ambitions for Olympic coverage and early signs are that it is paying off.
The entertainment giant, which owns the rights to the Olympic Games in Europe, claims that statistics showing the number of unique streaming viewers on its Max service after the second day of competition in Paris exceeded the total number for the Tokyo 2020 Games, which were held in 2021 due to Covid-19, on its previous slate of streaming platforms.
Furthermore, WBD claims that five times as many streaming viewers watched the Games compared to the same period in Tokyo, with Max accounting for 80% of the total streaming audience. Max has been rolling out internationally over the past year, with a series of European launches tied in with the Paris Olympics. In European territories such as the UK and Germany where Max is not available, Discovery+ will provide coverage.
