French prosecutors investigate rape allegation against actor Gérard Depardieu | TIME
After a lengthy investigation, prosecutors in Paris have demanded that Gerard Depardieu stand trial on charges of rape by digital penetration and sexual abuse by actress Charlotte Arnould.
In a statement sent to Variety today, the Paris Public Prosecutor's Office said it "has requested that Gerard Depardieu be referred to the criminal court to be tried for rape by digital penetration and sexual abuse on August 7 and 13, 2018, against Charlotte Arnould, born in November 1995."
The Public Prosecution Service added that “it is now up to the investigating judge to decide which direction the procedure should take.”
