Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal | Official Trailer | Netflix
The series was first reported to be in development at Hulu in November 2022. Now that Arquette has been cast, the series has officially been ordered.
According to the official description, the series is "based on the stranger-than-fiction family drama of Maggie (Arquette) and Alex Murdaugh, a riveting account based on countless hours of reporting by Mandy Matney — journalist and creator of the popular 'Murdaugh Murders Podcast' — as well as exclusive, insider knowledge from her years of following the case."
The Murdaugh family was a powerful force in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina, wielding vast legal and political influence. But for the better part of a decade, the family has been accused of involvement in a variety of crimes, ranging from fraud to murder. In addition to the “Murdaugh Murders” podcast, they have been the subject of multiple docuseries and news specials.
