Football fans may be frustrated again after Peacock last week announced its next exclusive NFL broadcast (live from Sao Paulo, Brazil!) following the Bills-Chargers game and last season's AFC Wild Card playoff game.
How NFL Fans React to Exclusive Subscription Games
But the grumbling seems to be less loud this time around — possibly because this exclusive matchup is a season opener rather than a pivotal playoff showdown, or possibly because fans have decided that spending money on Peacock isn't such a bad thing after all.
Analytics firm Antenna recently reported that 71% of Peacock’s 3 million users who signed up for the playoff game were still subscribed after just over a month. That was only slightly lower than the service’s overall 78% monthly retention rate for all of 2023.
That's an impressive feat for Peacock, which many observers expected would struggle to retain NFL fans who subscribed to its exclusive contests.
