The Ventriloquist and Scarface Rumors for Penguin HBO Max Series The Batman Spin-Off
According to head writer and showrunner Lauren LeFranc, the Penguin series starring Colin Farrell is ostensibly “a Scarface story.”
The upcoming series is a spinoff of the 2022 The Batman film, starring Robert Pattinson as the edgy Cape Crusader. The film's director, Matt Reeves, and producer, Dylan Clark, plan to expand The Batman with a series focusing on Oz Cobblepot — a villain played by Farrell in the film.
As the actor prepares to once again don The Penguin's prosthetics for the upcoming series, Entertainment Weekly has also shared new images from the crime drama.
