Palace peace adviser says BARMM creation still on track | Beyond Politics
During the Third Progress Report meeting of the Intergovernmental Relations Body (IGRB) in Malacañang on Wednesday, July 31, Marcos expressed optimism that the country will overcome remaining challenges to ensure the further development of the five-year-old Bangsamoro region.
Marcos cited the transformative reforms the government has implemented to support BARMM, including the appointment of former Moro rebels to the police force, the granting of amnesty to qualified former Moro fighters, the transfer of various national government properties and assets within the BARMM, and the signing of the Intergovernmental Energy Council Circular on the Joint Award of Petroleum Service Contracts and Coal Exploitation Contracts in the Region.
“These milestones in peace and development are part of our collective efforts to lay the foundation for effective governance and a meaningful autonomous environment,” Marcos said.
