Pixar unveiled a major new project at the D23 Expo on Friday night with promotion for “Hoppers,” a body-swapping tale starring Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan and Piper Curda.
Hoppers
The story follows a young girl, Mabel, who can transfer her mind to a robotic beaver in order to go undercover in the animal kingdom. She befriends a royal beaver, King George, and unites the animals to combat the plans of a real estate developer. The film is scheduled for release in spring 2026.
Hamm, an Emmy winner for “Mad Men” and nominated this year for FX’s “Fargo,” will voice a greedy mayor with development plans. Curda, who voices Mabel, is a former Disney Channel actor who appeared in multiple episodes of the 2013-2014 series “ANT Farm.” She also appeared in multiple episodes of the CW superhero series “Legacies” from 2018-2022.
Moynihan is an animation superstar and alum of “Saturday Night Live.” He was recently the voice of Forgetter Bobby in Pixar’s “Inside Out 2.”
