Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers stressed that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s decision to ban Philippine online gaming operators (POGO) does not mean that those who violate the law will go unpunished.
This will get you BAN in Pokémon GO
Barbers said politicians who rely on the financial support of POGOs, whom he called “Bagong Makapili” or Chinese henchmen, are now in a mess in the upcoming elections.
“We legislators commend President BBM’s decision to immediately ban POGO activities in the country. The various societal harms that POGO is causing us far outweigh the small economic contributions they have made to our economy,” Barbers said.
“All those POGO workers who broke our laws should not go unpunished,” he added.
