Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez stressed the importance of bringing to justice those involved in illegal activities related to the operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).
"Police crack down on criminal behavior to protect communities"
“Those responsible will have to face the law,” Romualdez said during a press conference at the ransacked Lucky South 99 Inc. POGO center in Porac, Pampanga on Monday.
Romualdez led several House of Representatives officials in a visual inspection of POGO hubs searched and closed by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) in Tarlac and Pampanga, and of the Empire 999 Realty Corp. warehouse in Mexico, Pampanga, where shabu worth P3.6 billion was seized last year.
“Noong nakaraang administrasyon, na-establishment of an industry in Lumago. Congress came up with a law so that it would be regulated for the purpose of collecting taxes. There may be illegal activities on this front,” he said.
