House Committee on Human Rights chairman and Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante revealed that money from Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) was used as cash rewards for police officers who killed drug suspects during the Duterte administration's war on drugs campaign.

During Wednesday's press conference, Abante was asked why his committee was involved in the joint investigation into POGOs and the distribution of illegal drugs.
“There is money being exchanged here,” Abante said, referring to the reward given to police officers who killed drug suspects.
“There is a reward system. If you have a reward system, a drug dealer can reward you. Nalaman namin na, this is a testimony from one of the police officers we have, officers from 20,000 to 60,000 ang ibinabayad dyan,” he added.
