The Pokemon Company, along with developers Creatures and DeNA, have announced the release date for the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket. Players can now pre-register their interest in the free-to-play Android and iOS game, though there will also be in-app purchases for those who want to progress more quickly.
[Official] The launch date for the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has been set!
Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will be released on October 30, 2024. The game will be released worldwide on the same day, with the exception of New Zealand, where players can participate in a soft launch before that date. The exact date of the soft launch has not been announced.
Those who go the free-to-play route will be able to open two booster packs of cards each day. The cards will feature artwork from the past, as well as brand new immersive cards that are exclusive to the game. Immersive cards feature artwork with "a 3D feel" with special visual effects that "make you feel like you've jumped into the world of the artwork on the card."
The cards can be displayed in folders or display boards that can be shared with friends around the world. However, there is no mention of the ability to trade those cards. Of course, the cards are worthless if you can't use them to participate in casual battles. These will be available against AI or against friends.
