Poppa's House CBS Teaser
The new CBS comedy Poppa's House, starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., shifts its focus to a more family-oriented series.
Wayans plays a legendary radio talk show host in the series, which premieres October 21 at 8:30 p.m. He's now moving into podcasting, allowing the comedy to focus more on his home country rather than a radio station.
Showrunner Dean Lorey, speaking at the TCA press tour, "We're making some shifts on the show. We've done a show called Poppa's House, so we want to see more of Poppa's House, we want that to really be the center of the show. So as the season progresses, we're going to see Poppa shift from being a radio station to doing a podcast at home. That's going to allow us to bring more of the family life into the show and have these two guys together all the time."
