Although she voiced many characters over the years, her most notable roles were Misty and Jessie in the Pokemon anime. She played these and several other characters on the show for eight years and is mourned by millions of people around the world who were touched by her acting.

Rachael Lillis passed away after a brief battle with breast cancer on August 10, 2024. News of her death came via an update from her sister on the GoFundMe page set up to raise donations for her cancer treatments. Any remaining funds (or new donations) will go to a memorial service for Rachael and cancer charities.
It is with a heavy heart that I sadly announce the passing of Rachael. She passed away peacefully Saturday evening, without pain, and for that we are grateful.
