Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced The Wild Robot 4K, Blu-ray, and digital release dates for DreamWorks Animation's latest sci-fi adventure film, after the Lupita Nyong'o-starring film hit theaters over two weeks ago.

"The film is an epic adventure about Roz, a robot shipwrecked on a deserted island who must adapt to the harsh conditions," the synopsis reads. "Gradually, Roz begins to build relationships with the island's animals, including a clever fox, and adopts an orphaned goose named Brightbill. THE WILD ROBOT is a powerful story of self-discovery, a thrilling exploration of the bridge between technology and nature, and a moving exploration of what it means to be alive and connected to all living things."
The Wild Robot will be available to rent or purchase on digital platforms on October 15, before a 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release on December 3, 2024. Since its debut, the film has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, currently holding a near-perfect Tomatometer score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The animated film is directed by acclaimed animator Chris Sanders, who is best known for his work on iconic films such as Croods, How to Train Your Dragon and Lilo & Stitch. The film is produced by Jeff Hermann, a longtime Kung Fu Panda producer. The all-star cast includes Nyong'o as Roz, Pedro Pascal as Fink, Catherine O'Hara as Pinktail, Bill Nighy as Longneck, Kit Connor as Brightbill, Stephanie Hsu as robot Vontra, Mark Hamill as Thorn, Matt Berry as Paddler and Ving Rhames as Thunderbolt.
