Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Thursday (Aug. 1) that the Philippine government cannot stop Interpol from executing arrest warrants that the International Criminal Court (ICC) will issue against former President Rodrigo Duterte and other individuals involved in the drug war killings under the previous administration.

“It is not our job to block Interpol's mission of fighting international crime,” he said.
Although the Philippines has already withdrawn from the international body, the ICC continues to investigate the accountability of those believed to have been involved in the killings.
Interpol is expected to execute arrest warrants issued by the ICC against those believed to be involved in the killings.
