The period drama has a supernatural/fantasy twist and a murder mystery theme, with Nell encountering a ghost named Billy Blind who tells her she must learn about her destiny before it’s too late. Along the way, Nell must uncover who the killer really is and who is framing her. Disney+ has released a series of sneak peek photos from the new series, along with an official trailer showing off the incredible costumes, makeup and action sequences. BAFTA Award-winning writer and creator Sally Wainwright is the show, with Ben Taylor directing. The duo have previously worked together on hit shows like Happy Valley and Sex Education.
The first shots show Harland as Nell, dressed in baggy clothes and standing in front of a wrecked carriage. She looks shocked as she holds a gun and points it at the ground. Another shot shows Mohammed as a sprite in colorful clothes with flapping wings. The rest of the shots show Kremelberg as a young widow named Sofia Wilmot, Richardson as newspaper magnate Lady Eularia Moggerhanger, Dunn as Sofia's brother Thomas, Lester as the Earl of Poynton and Dillane as Charles Devereux, all in magnificent period costumes. Each episode will reportedly be 45 minutes long.
