Netflix has released the first trailer for Rez Ball, previewing the upcoming sports drama film that focuses on a Native American high school basketball team competing for a state championship.

Rez Ball is directed by Sydney Freeland from a screenplay co-written by Freeland and Sterlin Harjo. The film is based on the nonfiction sports novel Canyon Dreams by The New York Times journalist Michael Powell.

The film stars Jessica Matten, Kauchani Bratt, Cody Lightning, Dallas Goldtooth, Ernest David Tsosie, Kusem Goodwind, Zoey Reyes with Amber Midthunder and Julia Jones. Rez Ball will be released worldwide on Netflix on September 27, 2024. The film will also have its world premiere at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival.
