The cause of death of fitness guru Richard Simmons has been revealed.

His brother Lenny Simmons told People magazine in a statement Wednesday that his death was an "accident" and was caused by "complications from recent falls and heart disease."
"This morning, Richard Simmons' brother Lenny received a call from the LA Coroner's office. The Coroner informed Lenny that Richard's death was an accident caused by complications from recent falls and heart disease was a contributing factor. The toxicology report came back negative, except for the medication Richard was prescribed. The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this time of great loss," Simmons' publicist Tom Estey shared in a statement to People.
Simmons died on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the age of 76 at his home in Los Angeles, one day after his birthday.
