Ridley Scott Shares First Reaction to 'Alien: Romulus' at Film's Premiere
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of Romulus , Scott — who is a producer on the film — said he was "tremendously relieved" when he saw the film. Despite knowing it would be a hit, Scott still gave director Fede Álvarez some notes.
“I was so relieved that it was potentially a big movie and I just said, 'You don't have to take notes, but I'll tell you what I think,'” Scott said.
The legendary filmmaker went on to say that he personally gave Alvarez some notes, rather than writing them down himself. These included the idea of shortening the film somewhat, noting that directors often make films too long.
