'Road House' star Daniela Melchior feels stronger in real life thanks to fight training
Set in a world driven by devices, American Sweatshop will explore the toll of social media through the eyes of Daisy Moriarty (Reinhart), who, while struggling with a chaotic personal life, finds herself sucked into the underbelly of the internet. Moriarty and a motley crew of colleagues toil in a cottage industry of desks that review damaging and offensive photos and videos uploaded to social media. With detached caution and a twisted sense of humor, they examine the millions of posts that are “flagged for review.” But one particularly violent video grabs Daisy and lures her out of this office, away from the safety of her keyboard, and into a dangerous world as she obsessively tries to hold someone accountable.
Melchior was recently seen in Road House, where she held down her own co-star Jake Gyllenhaal in the film that broke streaming records when it premiered in March. A sequel has been announced.
Prior to that, Melchior made her breakthrough in DC Studios’ The Suicide Squad, followed by a key role in another blockbuster, Fast X, and another in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. She will next begin production on Amazon MGM Studios’ Balls Up, starring Mark Wahlberg.
