UPDATE: Independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. said in a video posted Sunday on X that he was the person who placed a dead bear cub in Central Park, making it appear as if the animal had been involved in a bicycle accident.

He apparently told the unusual story in an attempt to preempt a New Yorker article about the incident. The publication published the profile this morning, including a photo of Kennedy sticking his fingers in the bear's mouth.
In the video, Kennedy speaks with Roseanne Barr in the kitchen.
Kennedy said he was in the Hudson Valley one morning when a woman in a van in front of him struck and killed a bear.
