Make way for old-school politikos. The country’s newest senators have made a major upgrade that puts substance over style.
Robin Padilla is proud of the new face of the Senate: 'Bata, maliksi at walang paligoy-ligoy'
Senator Robin Padilla was proud of the “new face” of the Senate, highlighting the young, dynamic and unapologetically straightforward nature of its members.
Padilla took up the Senate’s cause after former Senator Franklin Drilon criticized the alleged decline of some senators, which had tarnished the institution’s image. Drilon, who previously served as Senate President, also expressed concern over the Senate’s alleged excessive rowdiness and called on incumbent Senate President Migz Zubiri to rein in the senators.
Padilla, a popular action film star who won the Senate race last year, was having none of it, however. He dismissed Drilon's remarks and defended the Senate's honor.
