Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto on playing with lighting in THE IRISHMAN
Cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto receives the Distinguished Filmmaker Award and M. David Mullen, the Mentor Award, at the International Cinematographers Guild's annual Emerging Cinematographer Awards.
Prieto has received Oscar nominations for Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon," "The Irishman" and "Silence" and And Lee's "Brokeback Mountain." His credits also include last year's hit "Barbie" and Taylor Swift's "Fortnight," for which he won an MTV Video Music Award. Born and raised in Mexico, Prieto first came to attention for "Amores Perros." He will next make his feature film debut with an adaptation of Juan Rulfo's novel "Pedro Paramo."
Mullen won three Emmys for his work on "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and his contributions to education and mentorship include co-authoring both the third edition of Kris Malkiewicz's textbook "Cinematography" and the eleventh edition of "The American Cinematographer Manual."
