President Ferdinand Martin Romualdez attributed the country's 6.3% gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the second quarter of 2024 to the strategic economic policies of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Romualdez at the same time said that the GDP growth is an “encouraging development” for the House of Representatives to work more closely with the executive department.
"The 6.3 percent economic growth shows the effectiveness of President Bongbong Marcos' economic strategies and the solid legislative support from Congress. Our economy is recovering and growing steadily, creating more employment and improving the quality of life for Filipinos," Romualdez said.
While many sectors showed positive growth, Romualdez acknowledged the challenges faced by the agricultural sector, which shrank by 2.3% due to the effects of El Niño.
