Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and Tingog Party Representative Yedda Marie Romualdez on Friday praised surfer Rogelio Esquivel, Jr., the first Filipino to qualify for the WSL World Longboard Tour.

The Romualdezes also pledged to continue supporting surfing in the country and encouraged youth to emulate Esquivel's achievements.
The political couple has provided Esquivel with financial assistance to help him cover the costs of participating in sporting events such as the WSL competitions.
"Jay-R deserves all the support and recognition he can get after making history after history on the world surfing stage. We hope his example is followed by today's youth and that they one day make their dreams come true," the couple said.
