ZEE5 Global, a streaming platform specialising in South Asian content, has achieved huge success with its Telugu offering.
On the eve of Telugu Language Day, August 29, the platform revealed that Telugu has become one of the most-watched Indian languages by global audiences, alongside Hindi and Tamil. The Oscar-winning “RRR”, along with “Karthikeya 2” and “Hanu-Man”, have set new records as some of the most-watched Indian films on the platform. “RRR”, in particular, has transcended linguistic boundaries and is available to viewers globally in multiple language options.
The platform has seen Telugu content gain popularity in markets such as the US, UK, Australia and Canada. In the past year, Telugu viewership accounted for 25% of all non-Hindi content consumption on ZEE5 Global. The company also noted a 10% increase in Telugu content viewership from Q1 to Q2 this year.
