"Deadpool & Wolverine's Rob Delaney on what fans don't know about him.👀 #youtubeshorts
Ryan Reynolds revealed on Instagram that he made sure that "Deadpool & Wolverine" paid tribute to co-star Rob Delaney's late son, largely because Reynolds always regretted not doing so in "Deadpool 2." Delaney's son, Henry, died of a brain tumor in February 2018, just a few months before the first "Deadpool" sequel was released. Henry was just 2 years old.
"There's more to Rob Delaney than some people realize," Reynolds wrote of his co-star, who plays Wade Wilson's friend Peter in "Deadpool 2" and "Deadpool & Wolverine." "He's one of the most subversively funny people I know. He's a beautiful, sharp, vulnerable writer. If you followed the credits on 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' you might have noticed a credit that said, 'For Henry Delaney.' Henry was Rob's son. And Rob lost his son to a brain tumor in 2018. Right around the time we were finishing 'Deadpool 2.'"
"I've always kicked myself for not putting a tribute to Henry in the credits of ['Deadpool 2']," Reynolds added. "If there's a silver lining, it's that more people will see Henry's name in the credits of 'Deadpool & Wolverine.' And finally father and son will share the same screen."
