RZA – A Ballet Through the Mud
RZA expands his repertoire with the release of “A Ballet Through Mud,” the title track from his upcoming orchestral album featuring original compositions.
“A Ballet Through Mud” was originally performed by the Colorado Symphony last year, and the full album will be released on August 30 via Platoon and 36 Chambers. In addition to the release of the title track, RZA has unveiled a performance clip for “A Ballet Through Mud” as well as a snippet of “Soft Footsteps” exclusively to Variety.
“I’ve been composing my whole life, even though I didn’t know I was doing it at first,” RZA explains of the project. “The inspiration for ‘A Ballet Through Mud’ comes from my earliest creative output as a teenager, but the themes are universal: love, discovery, and adventure. I hope people use it to take ownership of their own lives, to transform a trip to the grocery store or a meal with loved ones into something magical, to be inspired and let their imaginations take them to another room, even if just for a moment.”
