“Is the show over!?” Strictly Come Dancing faces abuse claims after second dancer leaves
Graziano Di Prima announced yesterday on Instagram that he is leaving the show, where he has been one of the professional dancers since 2018.
“I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly. My intense passion and determination to win may have affected my training regime. With due respect to the BBC HR process, I understand that it is in the best interests of the show for me to step back. While there are aspects of this story that involve external influences that I cannot discuss at this time, I remain committed to being strong for my family and friends. I wish the Strictly family and the BBC nothing but success in the future. I would also like to thank everyone who has supported my career, both professionally and personally. When the time is right, I will share my story.”
British newspaper The Sun reports today that the BBC took the decision to terminate the dancer's contract after a video was shown of the Italian professional allegedly kicking dance partner Zara McDermott. The Sun reports that further physical attacks have taken place.
