The duo are well-known figures in the British industry and said their new agency will empower indies looking to take their business to the next level. They will share their combined intelligence with indie clients, providing operational, financial and creative guidance. Lawrence and Atkinson told Deadline that they will join companies and specific services will include diversification planning, exploring investment opportunities and exploring different financing models.
Lawrence said there is a huge demand from the independent market for the strategic expertise that Media MDs can bring to small and medium-sized independent businesses. These businesses often have remarkable creativity and the potential to scale, but don’t necessarily have the practical experience to actually do so.
The duo promised their services would be “effective and affordable” at a time when many indies are struggling. The UK industry is facing a myriad of challenges, including key commissioners cutting back on programme orders and rising costs. However, the UK industry is still brimming with talent.
