EXCLUSIVE: Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired North American rights to the French survival thriller Survive, starring Emilie Dequenne (Close), Andreas Pietschmann (Dark), Lisa Delamar, Lucas Ebel and Arben Bajraktaraj. The pic hits theaters and VOD in January.

Directed by Frédéric Jardin and written by Matt Alexander, the film follows Julia and her loving husband as they celebrate their son’s birthday on their boat in the middle of the ocean. When a violent storm nearly capsizes them, the family awakens in a desert land. The Earth has undergone a tragic polarity reversal, draining the oceans of water. The family must race to safety before the water returns, all the while battling hungry creatures from the abyss hunting for fresh meat.
