As Saoirse Ronan likes to joke, she's very good at losing things.

The four-time Academy Award-nominated actress recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote her new independent film The Outrun. During the episode, she joked about how she's increasingly missing out on everything from the coveted Oscars to Kimmel's own Ladybird gift box that he put together in honor of the film at the 2018 awards show.

There is one loss, however, that perhaps hurts more than most: not getting the role of the eccentric and beautiful Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films.

"There are things you pass on and then they come out and you think, 'Oh God, that was a misstep on my part,'" Ronan explained, "but I think the one that's stuck with me all these years — I didn't say no, I just didn't get the part. I lost, again. It's a recurring theme for me."
