With a sequel to the slasher film in the works, many fans speculated whether Gellar would reprise her role as beauty queen Helen Shivers.
“I'm dead,” Gellar told People of the fate her character met in the 1997 film.
However, Gellar's husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., will reprise his role, and the former Buffy the Vampire Slayer said she will be part of the film in an "unofficial" capacity.
