Scarlett Johansson uses her very real voice to virtually snipe at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. In an interview with The New York Times , the Her actor suggested that Altman would make a good Marvel villain, "maybe with a robot arm."
OpenAI chatbot voice sparks controversy over Scarlett Johansson resemblance | ABC News
Johansson and Altman came to a public spat in May when Altman's OpenAI reportedly used an imitation of Johansson's voice as a virtual AI assistant in the 2013 film Her. Though OpenAI reluctantly agreed to pull the Her-like voice option, insisting it was not in fact a Johansson impersonation, the Her star herself says she was "shocked" and "angered" by the apparent use of her voice after she specifically turned down the company's offer.
"I felt like I didn't want to be ahead of the curve," Johansson said of turning down OpenAI's initial request. "I just felt like it went against my core values. I don't like to kiss and tell. He came to me with this and I didn't tell anyone except my husband."
“I also felt it was strange for my children. I try to be aware of them,” Johansson added.
